Chicago Light Pollution Victory

Salesforce announced its arrival to our city at its new downtown location along the Chicago River by introducing many Chicagoans to the issue of light pollution. The excessive illumination of its corporate logo atop the new 60 story building resembled a spotlight in the sky. It was so disturbing to enough people that the backlash resulted in some positive change. In response to public outcry and an aldermanic response, Salesforce changed its lighting on its illuminated building logo in less than a week after complaints started being voiced!

This is a substantial win that demonstrates what we can do as a community to stem the growth of light pollution even in a big city.
