Why are dark night skies important? How could your community help? What are dark skies designations and places?

Discover with Ken Walczak, Senior Manager of Far Horizons, how the NiteLite program assists to forward our understanding of light pollution and how it involves a range of technologies led by students, volunteers, and scientists working together at the Adler Planetarium to promote dark night skies awareness and action.

Grab a delightful libation and some delicious eats at home while you learn from community advocates in Beverly Shores and Michigan City how you could make the night skies darker where you live. You’ll want to join us, so spread the word and invite some friends!

Northwest Indiana Green Drinks will meet Thursday, April 1st, 6:30 pm, via Zoom. Green Drinks in its permanent virtual format meets usually the first Thursday of the month, yet may meet on different days depending on the program (excluding December and July). These events are co-sponsored with Save the Dunes and Michigan City Sustainability Commission plus supported by 219 GreenConnect.
