Dark Skies Night Hike

Celebrate International Dark Sky Week and learn how to help preserve dark skies.

On this guided hike at The Morton Arboretum, discover the value of dark skies and find out why protecting the night sky from light pollution is critical for wildlife and people alike.

Local Dark Sky Association delegate Adam Kreuzer will share what makes dark skies so important and what we can do to help, and then lead participants out onto the trails in small groups for a guided hike. Look for signs of wildlife, and learn what the plants and animals of local natural areas are up to at night. This program will fill you with inspiration and awe while providing practical ways you can help reduce light pollution.

This program meets in person at the Morton Arboretum.
